💡Pro Tip
Pineapple can easily disappear behind Dr Pepper, so make sure it is added directly to the ice before the soda. This distributes the tropical flavor throughout the drink.
Why You'll Love It
Wahiawā Cream™ takes Dr Pepper somewhere completely different. Pineapple brings brightness, coconut adds a mellow tropical note, and together they create an almost piña-colada-like flavor without hiding the character of the soda underneath.
Heavy cream brings those flavors together and gives the drink a richer finish. It is familiar enough for a Dr Pepper fan but different enough to demonstrate just how versatile the soda can be.
🇺🇸America Spotlight🇺🇸
Wahiawā sits in the agricultural heart of central Oʻahu, an area whose history is closely connected to pineapple. Hawaiʻi's Department of Agriculture records that James Dole purchased land in Wahiawā in 1900 and began experimenting with pineapple before establishing the Hawaiian Pineapple Company the following year.
Pineapple fields once dominated much of the landscape surrounding Wahiawā, and agriculture remains part of the area's identity today. That history makes Wahiawā a fitting namesake for a pineapple-and-coconut dirty soda that brings a distinctly Hawaiian direction to Dr Pepper.
